About the data

How vacancy information is meant to appear on dsr.careers, what each date means, and what this prototype is actually showing.

Every page carries a banner: sample data, not live vacancies. The catalog in this prototype is hand-built sample JSON so the layout can be judged. Later, live ingest from official careers pages will replace it. Until then, treat every opening as an illustration of the directory, not a live post you can apply to without checking the employer’s portal.

Organizations

The organization directory is the current covered set: Alliance bodies, EU security agencies, other international organizations, a UN peace-and-security cluster, national civil defence and intelligence employers, and a slice of defence-tech and primes. Each profile links to the institution’s own website and careers page.

Vacancies

A role is listed when the employer and an official source are clear enough to support a useful page. Coverage can include staff posts, secondments, standing-corps contracts, and early-career programmes. This build’s jobs are samples.

How to read a listing

Dates are kept as distinct fields so a source check is not mistaken for the employer’s posting date.

Posted

The employer’s publication date, when the source states one.

Deadline

The closing date on the notice. Confirm the time and time zone on the official page before you apply.

Last checked

The most recent date this directory reviewed the official source. It is not a posting date and it is not a promise that the vacancy is still open.

What appears, and what does not

Duty station, grade, engagement type, work mode, languages, and similar facts appear when the source supports them. The site does not invent eligibility, salary, clearance, or language requirements to fill a layout. Empty fields are omitted.

USAJOBS

US federal defence, homeland, and intelligence civil posts are a link-out to USAJOBS until an API key exists. This directory does not ingest those vacancies yet. Apply on USAJOBS itself.

What you can rely on

You can rely on the shape of a listing: official apply link up front, dates kept separate, and missing facts left blank. You can rely on organization profiles to point at the employer’s own portal.

You must confirm on the official notice whether the post is still open, who may apply, which documents are required, and the real deadline. Sample data in this prototype is not a live feed.

Where the data stops

dsr.careers organizes public vacancy information and links to official sources. It does not receive applications, assess candidates, or take part in recruitment.

Careers pages change between checks. A missing vacancy does not explain why it disappeared. The employer’s current notice remains the final reference.
